The Francophone Seminar in Dakar, Senegal, is offered every two to three years and takes place during Spring Term.

Eligibility

The minimum requirement for participation is French 202 or equivalent (two years of college French). Students who have not yet completed French 202 at the time of application should still apply but they will need to complete 202 before participating in the program. Students who meet all requirements but French 202 at the time of acceptance will be accepted conditionally until they successfully complete French 202.

Costs of Program

The table below includes information on the fixed/billed costs for the program. The program fee includes:

  • Round trip airfare on an arranged group flight
  • Room and board in a home stay
  • Transportation from the airport to the home of the host family
  • All cultural excursions and hotel accommodations

Participants are responsible for:

  • Passport fee
  • Immunizations
  • Personal expenses (books, gifts, etc.)
