Sixteen Lawrence students and two faculty members traveled to The Gambia this spring for research and community outreach, part of the Field Experience in Development course. The students later showcased their research in poster presentations.

Monique Johnson, a government major from Brooklyn, New York, with plans to pursue law school after graduation, has been named the 2024 senior class speaker for Lawrence University’s June 9 Commencement.

Lawrence University alumnus Pawo Choyning Dorji ’06 is again drawing Oscar buzz. His second film, again set in Bhutan, The Monk and the Gun, has been shortlisted for an Academy Award nomination for International Feature Films.

Jon Greenwald, a former Lawrence University Scarff Distinguished Visiting Professor of Diplomacy and Foreign Policy, will discuss Ukraine in an Oct. 10 lecture at Lawrence University. It is part of the 2023-24 Povolny Lecture Series in International Studies.

Malcolm Davis, a senior from South Carolina, enjoys his work as president for the Lawrence University Community Council (LUCC). He was elected to the leadership post in March.
