Márton Galambos, editor-in-chief of Forbes Hungary, will be the featured speaker April 11 as part of Lawrence University’s 2022-23 Povolny Lecture Series in International Studies.

Galambos will deliver Politics and the Press in Hungary: Birth of an Autocrat, set for 7:30 p.m. in the Wriston Art Center Auditorium. The lecture is free and open to the public. A pre-talk reception will begin at 7 p.m.

Named in honor of the late Mojmir Povolny, a long-time Lawrence government professor, the lecture series promotes interest and discussion on issues of moral significance and ethical dimensions.

Galambos completed a degree in sociology in Hungary and holds a B.A. in business administration and communication from McDaniel College in Maryland. He spent a year at the Freie Universitaet Berlin as a Fellow at the European Journalism-Fellowships program. He worked at various Hungarian news outlets and periodicals for 10 years before joining Forbes Hungary, a leading Hungarian business magazine, in 2013.
