The legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.—seen in the ongoing work he helped inspire—was celebrated Jan. 15 as Lawrentians gathered with the Fox Cities community in Lawrence University’s Memorial Chapel for the 33rd Fox Cities Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration.

The 33rd Fox Cities Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration will be held Jan. 15 in Lawrence University’s Memorial Chapel. The event, set for 6 to 7:30 p.m., marks a return to an in-person celebration after several years of being held online.

The Rev. Terra Winston-Sage ’00 has been appointed Lawrence University’s next Julie Esch Hurvis Dean of Spiritual and Religious Life and university chaplain. She has been an associate dean since 2018.

Noemi Delgado joined Lawrence earlier this year as the director of Accessibility Services and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) coordinator. She's working to ease the process for a student’s accommodation needs to be effectively addressed.

17 Days of Kindness, a campaign launched on campus last spring in advance of the inauguration of President Laurie A. Carter, returns for a second year, beginning April 27 and carrying through May 13.

Lawrence University student organizations will celebrate Earth Day with a week of activities beginning April 17. The sustainability-focused events will culminate with Earthfest, to be held on Main Hall Green on Earth Day, April 22.

Lawrence University has been named a Voter Friendly Campus in a national initiative that recognizes institutions that planned and implemented practices that encourage their students to register and vote.

Forever a Lawrentian will be introduced April 21-22 when the Lawrence University Alumni Association (LUAA) Board is on campus. The program is looking to spur conversations between LUAA members and current students.
