A new dance minor has been introduced at Lawrence University, the culmination of years of effort to build a comprehensive dance program. The emphasis is on collaboration.

Jonathan Bass, a fifth-year senior at Lawrence, won the Young Artist Performance Piano division in a statewide competition of the Music Teachers National Association. Four other Lawrence students earned honors.

Mapping Climate Change, an exhibit at the Wriston Art Center, explores climate change via the contributions of more than 2,500 hand-knitters. Multimedia artist Jools Gilson is on campus to talk about the project.

Kristin Roach, assistant professor of opera, has won The American Prize in Conducting in the Opera and Music Theater Division. It comes for her work conducting four 2022 performances of Suor Angelica.

The 10th edition of Mile of Music returns to downtown Appleton Aug. 3-6, and once again Lawrence University will be all in with music education workshops, multiple venues, and must-see performances.

Lawrence University will host the Lawrence Music Camp in mid-July, adding to a musical summer that will include the annual Decoda Chamber Music Festival and participation in downtown Appleton’s Mile of Music.

Jonathan Bass, a pianist and dual-degree student in his fourth year at Lawrence University, took first place in a national piano competition organized by the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC).
