Lawrence University is set to welcome Dr. Allison Vetter as its new director of equal opportunity compliance and Title IX coordinator. She will begin her work at Lawrence on March 1.

Alexandra Bell, a multidisciplinary artist who has used art to shine a light on racial biases in the media, will deliver Lawrence University’s Winter Term Convocation address at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 18 in Memorial Chapel.

At the beginning of this term, Lawrence’s first electric vehicle (EV) charging station was installed in the Memorial Chapel parking lot. Capable of charging two vehicles at once, the station is fully operational and can be accessed through the ChargePoint app.

Lawrence University will mark MLK Day on Jan. 17 with a day of service that includes a series of virtual discussions in the morning, volunteer opportunities in the afternoon, and an online community celebration in the evening.

Beginning immediately, Lawrence students can ride Valley Transit buses for free with their student ID. The pilot program is a partnership between Lawrence University and the public transportation service that provides access to Appleton and surrounding communities.
