Each year, Lawrence University presents two Lawrence Awards for Outstanding Teaching in Wisconsin to secondary school teachers who contributed to our graduates' success. Students nominate their former teachers for this honor, which includes a monetary award and a donation to the school library.

Teachers are nominated by graduating seniors who attended high school in Wisconsin. Recipients are selected by a committee of education faculty from the College and Conservatory.

Award recipients should be outstanding teachers who:

  • create a sense of excitement and enthusiasm for learning;
  • actively engage students and motivate them to do their best work;
  • contribute to the well-being of their school and its community; and
  • are committed to the personal growth of their students.

Any Wisconsin middle or high school teacher, public or private, is eligible.

Graduating seniors from Wisconsin: Honor a teacher who made a difference in your life with a nomination for this year's Lawrence Awards for Outstanding Teaching in Wisconsin.

Nominations accepted through April 15.
