Welcome to the Mental Health Subcommittee

The LU Mental Health Subcommittee is committed to offering programming specific to improving mental health and combating the stigma around seeking help for mental illness.

The committee carries out a number of active and passive programs throughout the year, including:

  • Fundraising Walk for the National Alliance on Mental Illness

Rubber Band Remembrances

The Mental Health Subcommittee is encouraging students, faculty, and staff to acknowledge LU's recent losses to mental health issues by wearing a rubber band around their wrists. The rubber bands read: Speak. Listen. Remember. The idea behind these words are that we should SPEAK more openly about our troubles and relay concerns to appropriate campus staff/faculty, LISTEN and support each other, and REMEMBER those we have lost.
