Toni Weijola (Capriccio teacher-conductor) is an alumna of Lawrence University (2001), graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree in choral and general music education and vocal performance. She also holds a Master of Music degree in music education with a Kodaly emphasis from Silver Lake College. Weijola is an elementary music teacher with the Appleton Area School District and regularly collaborates with Lawrence University as a cooperating teacher for future music educators. Weijola is an advocate for the Comprehensive Musicianship through Performance (CMP) teaching model and has been a member and served on professional music organizations, such as Wisconsin Choral Directors Association and Wisconsin Music Educators Association. As an active musician and educator in the Fox Valley, she has previously served as conducting intern and voice coach with the Girl Choir program, taught with the conducting staff of the Appleton Boychoir, conducted private studio instruction in voice, and currently sings with the NEWVoices choir. Weijola serves as soprano section leader in NEWVoices, and, with her husband, she co-leads music and worship ministry at their church.
