Maria Carone teaches languages, 18th-21st century German literature, and First-Year Studies.

She has a doctorate in German and a doctorate in Italian from UW Madison. Publications include peer-reviewed articles on German and Italian literature, linguistics, and several book reviews. When she’s not teaching, professor Carone lectures on intercultural sensitivity and cross-cultural communication, translates literary works, and enjoys interpreting at courts and international trade fairs.
