As a director, I lead efforts related to institutional research, student success, and grant program evaluation at Lawrence. I seek to create a data-informed decision-making culture by connecting and engaging stakeholders with data to catalyze change.
As a leader in institutional research, I currently serve as chair of the Higher Education Data Sharing (HEDS) Consortium Board, and previously served as a member of the Association for Institutional Research’s (AIR) Nominations and Elections Committee (NEC). As an active contributor to regional and national higher education organizations, I frequently present on topics related to student success, diversity/equity/inclusion (DEI), inclusive excellence, mental health, and sexual assault. I've published in New Directions for Institutional Research on the role of institutional research in advancing DEI and in the Journal of College Science Teaching on how faculty can collaborate with IR offices to make data-informed pedagogical decisions to improve student outcomes and sense of belonging.
My career in higher education began in 2010, when I joined Lawrence University to assist with the evaluation of a federal grant for campus suicide prevention. I was hired permanently in 2011 as a research associate, promoted to associate director in 2012, and named director of research administration in 2015. In 2022, I led efforts to change our office name (from research administration to institutional research) to more accurately reflect the work we do.
