Alison Scott-Williams, an esteemed leader in arts education, is the executive vice president and chief operating officer at Lawrence University. This newly established position at Lawrence, although common in higher education, will make Scott-Williams the chief administrative and strategy officer. She oversees the development and delivery of campus services, along with the strategic operations that support the university’s growth and financial health. Scott-Williams plays a pivotal role in advancing the university's strategic services and operations.
Scott-Williams brings a wealth of experience from her recent role as president of Studio in a School NYC, where she led initiatives that provided arts education to over 23,000 students across 175 New York City Title 1 public schools. Her previous roles include vice president for arts education at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) and several key positions at The Juilliard School.
A native Midwesterner and liberal arts graduate, Scott-Williams is deeply committed to supporting Lawrence University's community. She holds advanced degrees in voice performance and opera theater from the Manhattan School of Music and Oberlin Conservatory, along with a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Baruch College. She has also completed a leadership fellowship with American Express and a Certificate in Business Excellence from Columbia Business School.
