Meet Sarah Gamalinda, who joined the Lawrence University faculty in 2022 as an assistant professor of French and francophone studies. She will be the faculty lead for Lawrence's 10-week Senegal study abroad program in spring 2025.

Claire Chamberlin, a double major in global studies and French, used a research opportunity to pursue the translation of four Molière-inspired plays from French to English. Two were later performed on stage.

Ten Lawrence students are expected to depart for Dakar, Senegal on March 28, part of the Francophone Seminar program. It is one of the largest groups to ever take part in the program in the West African country.

Jonathan Bass knew he wanted to major in music in college, but he also knew he wanted a broad academic experience. He opted to major in both music performance (piano) and French.

Eilene Hoft-March joined the Lawrence University faculty with a student-focused teaching style and a deep love of French literature and autobiographies. Thirty-two years later, that all remains true.
