The VR's History
This campus watering hole was established with the purpose of fostering a deeper sense of community by providing a safe space where Lawrentians can meet, relax, and socialize. Founded in 1969, The VR is ripe with history-- evident in the hundreds of names of students past and present affectionately carved in the bar’s tables and booths. Fun fact: Founded in a time of social change, The VR was home to the first licensed female bartender in Appleton, Susan Jasin ‘69.
