Lawrence University has announced the hiring of three new tenure-track faculty for the 2025-26 academic year.

Two of the new faculty—Carrie Picardi and Kristina Pagel-Martinez—are already on campus in other roles. A third, Margaret Malone, will arrive for Fall Term.

“I’m very happy indeed to welcome these three outstanding teacher-scholars to tenure-track positions at Lawrence,” said Peter Blitstein, provost and dean of faculty.

Carrie Picardi will step into the role of J. Thomas Hurvis Professor of Organizational Psychology and Collaboration and associate professor of psychology. She has been on campus as a visiting assistant professor for industrial/organizational psychology since the beginning of the 2024-25 academic year. Picardi previously served as an associate professor at the University of Bridgeport for 16 years. She earned a Ph.D. in applied organizational psychology from Hofstra University, a master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of New Haven, and a bachelor’s degree with a major in psychology from The College of New Jersey.

Kristina Pagel-Martinez, moving into the role of assistant professor of psychology, has been at Lawrence the past two years as a visiting assistant professor of psychology. She previously worked at Colorado Mesa University as a lab director in the CMU Psychoneuroimmunology Lab and at the University of Chicago in the McClintock Survey Biomeasure Lab. She holds a Ph.D. and master’s degree in comparative human development from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree with a major in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Margaret Malone will join the faculty as an assistant professor of biology. She will be coming to Lawrence from Florida International University, where she has worked as a postdoctoral associate since 2022. She earned a Ph.D. in ecology and evolution at the University of Illinois Chicago, a master’s degree in biology from Loyola University Chicago, and a bachelor’s degree with a major in marine biology from the College of Charleston.
