Post-9/11 GI Bill
Veterans or their dependents (if the benefit is transferred to their dependent) can use their Post-9/11 GI Bill to pay a portion or all of tuition and fees at Lawrence. When using the Post-9/11 GI Bill, it’s important to know the following:
- Your benefit level (50% to 100%). Benefit levels are explained here.
- The number of eligible months remaining to use the benefit
- The annual Post-9/11 GI Bill maximum rate, which is posted here. For the 2022-23 academic year the maximum Post-9/11 GI Bill is $26,381.37.
In addition to tuition and fees, the Post-9/11 GI Bill will also cover up to $1,000 for books and provide a monthly housing allowance ($1,347 per month for the 2022-23 academic year).
Yellow Ribbon Program
If you’re eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill at the 100% benefit level, 100% of tuition and fees will be covered between the Post-9/11 GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon Program. The Yellow Ribbon Program is funded 50-50 by the VA and Lawrence University.
For more information, visit the Yellow Ribbon Program. You can also apply for veteran's benefits on the VA website.
