Information for graduating seniors and families
Commencement exercises will be held on the Main Hall Green under the tent at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, June 14.
All obligations to the university, financial as well as academic, must be met before Commencement day, June 14.
Any Lawrence student who does not wish to participate in the formal ceremony on June 14 may be excused by informing Dean Truesdell or Provost and Dean of the Faculty Burrows in writing by Thursday, June 11. We assume all eligible graduates will be in attendance unless we are informed to the contrary.
Academic apparel for seniors
The appropriate academic apparel for the formal Commencement ceremony is black cap and gown. It may be ordered from Conkey’s Bookstore in Appleton beginning March 23 at a cost of $32.95 plus tax. For those students graduating from the double-degree program (includes both tassels), the cost is $39.90 plus tax. All orders are prepaid and must be placed by Saturday, April 11. (A $20 late fee will be charged if the order is placed after that date.) The academic apparel (cap, gown, and tassel) will be yours to keep as a memento of your graduation and must be picked up at Conkey’s between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, June 8, 9, 10, or 11. If there are questions, contact Kathy Dietz at Conkey’s Bookstore, 800-279-4623 or 920-735-6223, or e-mail textbooks@conkeys.com.
No tickets will be distributed; the ceremony will be held under a tent on the Main Hall Green.
