Arrival Days for New International Students

On Monday, September 15, new international students may:

In addition to the regular Welcome Week orientation activities listed in the schedule, new international students should attend the following special sessions:

 

Monday, September 15

1:00 p.m.

Student information forms completed and collection of passports, forms I-20 or DS-2019, and I-94 for Office of International Student Services

Science Hall 102

2:00 p.m.

Bus trip to Burlington Coat Factory, Wal-Mart, and Fox River Mall to purchase necessary items

Departing from International House

7:00 p.m.

Welcome Dinner

Enjoy a dinner with vice president for student affairs and dean of students Nancy Truesdell, TSA instructor Cecile Despres-Berry, and international student services staff

Barber Room (Downer Commons, second floor)

Following dinner, dessert will be served at Dean of Students House,
716 East College Avenue, hosted by Dean Truesdell

Return of immigration paperwork

9:00 a.m.

Discussion with International Student Services staff regarding international student immigration forms, regulations and procedures; and legal rights, responsibilities, and requirements in the United States

Session on insurance and student health and counseling services with Susie Muenster, director of health services, Paul Valencic, assistant director of counseling services/alcohol education coordinator, and a representative from Associated Financial Group
