Lawrence University stationery system is composed of a letterhead, envelope, and business card. It is expected that university business will be conducted on university letterhead. Individual departments may not create their own stationery apart from the university system.
Letterhead, business cards, and envelopes may only be printed by the university's contract printers, and must adhere to the guidelines described here.
LetterheadThe university letterhead uses the university logo (crest plus wordmark, Lawrence University) in the typeface Trajan. It is printed on Fox River Arctic White 25% cotton recycled text stock.
The colors on the letterhead are PMS 294 (used only within the crest) and black.
The letterhead size is 8.5 x 11".
Three lines of text are placed below the university logo: the department name, the one-line address (Appleton, Wisconsin 54912-0599), and the fax and phone numbers. Personal names, and e-mail and website addresses are not included on the letterhead. This text is also in the typeface Trajan.
The logo and text are centered at the top of the page.
Typewritten material is typically set flush left, using the Times Roman typeface, single-line spacing. One-inch margins are preferred.

Matching #10 envelopes contain the university logo, department name, and one-line address, using the same 2 colors, PMS 294 and black, and the same stock.
Other sizes of envelopes may be used, depending on what is to be contained within them. Typical envelopes are #9 business, #6.75 booklet, #6.5 booklet, #12.5 catalog. All use the same logo, two-line address, and two colors, and are printed on white envelope stock.

Business cards use the logo and several lines of text, centered, two colors, on Fox River Arctic White stock, 2.5 x 3". The following information is included on separate lines: name, title (in some cases may be two lines), department, address (one line), phone and fax numbers, e-mail address and website address. More than six lines of text below the logo limits the bottom margin and should be avoided. The typeface Trajan is used for all text except the E-mail and Web site line. Due to the lower-case letters used for this information, the typeface Bembo is used.

Stationery system pieces are designed by the Lawrence University Office of Communications.
