Pete Gilbert, University Librarian and associate professor, is the recipient of the 2008-09 Freshman Studies Teaching Award.
Professor Gilbert "has helped students develop their writing and critical reasoning skills while stimulating exciting discussions of the works in Freshman Studies." He attributes this award to a class of very bright, funny, engaged students, and to his excellent colleagues in the Freshman Studies Teaching Circle.
