Judy Huffman Sutherland ’58 was awarded the George B. Walter ’36 Service to Society Award. Judy Huffman Sutherland was fortunate enough to study with George B. Walter during her time at Lawrence. While studying for her Master's degree in counseling psychology at the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, she took a class in art therapy that changed her life-and the direction of her career. She became a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and was one of the instrumental forces behind the development of the Master of Arts in Counseling: Art Therapy program at Adler Graduate School
