Robert E. Spoo ’79 was awarded the Lucia R. Briggs Distinguished Achievement Award. Robert Spoo is a professor in Intellectual Property, Law and Literature at the University of Tulsa. He has also enjoyed a distinguished legal career, specializing in copyright and intellectual property law. Before his legal career, Spoo was was editor-in-chief of /James Joyce Quarterly/ and is considered by many to be an expert on James Joyce. A consummate professional, Spoo has also shared his expertise with the National Library of Ireland, the government of Hanoi, universities, research libraries, software technology companies, and countless record companies and filmmakers in the United States.
