Academic Advising

From the moment you arrive on campus, you will have a faculty academic and/or musical advisor within (one of) your area(s) of interest. You will meet with your advisor before your classes start, as well as at least twice a term during your freshman and sophomore years. The advisor not only functions as a go-to person for academic advice and scheduling, but also will be able to help you with off-campus study, internships, and graduate school/post-Lawrence planning.

In many cases, a student’s advisor also acts as a personal mentor. If your academic interests change, or, if you work more closely with another professor in your concentration, you may switch advisors at any time in your Lawrence career. If you choose not to change advisors, the advisor you are assigned as a freshman will advise you throughout your entire time as an undergraduate student.
