Given the importance of music on our campus, it's no surprise that musical works are often featured in Freshman Studies. Since 1997, we have included at least one musical work per year; and since 2002, our experience of those musical works has been enhanced by electronic resources created by David Berk, the Director of Instructional Technology at Lawrence. Those resources are archived here.
- Olivier Messiaen's "Quartet for the End of Time" (studied in 2008-09)
- John Coltrane's "Alabama" (studied in 2005-07) [oncampus only]
- Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" (studied in 2003-05) [oncampus only]
- Duke Ellington's "Concerto for Cootie" (studied in 2002-03) [oncampus only]
