Lawrence University and the Fox Valley
- Twenty-seven percent of Lawrence alumni live in Wisconsin, and more than 1,000 graduates live and work in the Fox Cities.
- With 428 employees, the college is a major employer in the area.
- Through purchases, construction contracts, and personal spending of the college community, Lawrence generates an economic impact on the Fox Cities of over $69 million per year. Science Hall, which opened in the fall of 2000, is one of several major construction projects completed in recent years or planned for the future. A new 183-bed residence hall was built by Boldt construction company and opened for student housing in September 2003.
- Over 100 alumni are executives of Wisconsin businesses, from small firms to international corporations.
- Lawrence places students in internships throughout the Fox Valley. Students enhance their skills and gain valuable experience at paper, construction, publishing, and insurance companies, as well as environmental agencies, medical facilities, museums, and other non-profit organizations.
- Many Lawrence students work part-time during their college careers, adding a pool of talent to the Fox Valley labor force and providing businesses with prospective recruits for future full-time employment.
